David Blontz

David Blontz is a Commissioning Technician for BETA Engineers, PC, a 7group company. David brings over 20 years of experience in mechanical and electrical systems design to inform the three years he has spent in varied commissioning assignments with BETA Engineers. One of his strengths is his ability to communicate in all areas of the commissioning process, with the owner’s project requirements always the key filter. From design review issues through construction and functional testing, he is viewing the project and the activity of the project team through the template of the stated requirements as expressed – or adjusted – by the owner through a process that can sometimes stray from original intentions. He is proficient at performing on-site observations during construction and recognizing opportunities to feed-back information from previous projects into the current project. In his role as a project leader, he is ever mindful of the need to include contractors in the commissioning team process. This not only assures the contractor’s responsibility in the process, but also encourages genuine ownership. This in turn pays measurable dividends at the most important level, where the owner’s project requirements, as expressed in a clear basis of design, becomes a detail driven construction reality.
