Commissioning Authority sought for projects focusing on energy efficient, sustainable, and green buildings.  We are willing to teach a qualified candidate the process of commissioning. Prefer mechanical engineering degree or equivalent. Experience in design and/or construction, practical knowledge of building control systems a plus.

Position Responsibilities: Review and optimize building control systems, analyze mechanical systems, oversee functional testing, review construction documents, interact with client staff and client principals, develop written reports that convey both technical and non technical information.

Technical Skills: Candidate will gain; a thorough understanding of HVAC, electrical, building automation and controls, and the building construction process; experience at auditing existing energy consuming equipment and diagnosing problems; troubleshooting complex mechanical systems and controls; analyzing field data and energy consumption data; develop a thorough understanding of construction drawings and specifications; develop a broad understanding of building systems including envelope, lighting, and systems integration

Business Skills: Self motivated and able to work in teams. Ability to actively work on and manage several projects at once. Excellent written and oral communication skills

This position requires some travel and occasional out of town overnight stays. Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience. Energy Engineer

Engineer sought for projects focusing on energy efficient, sustainable, and green buildings.  Prefer a mechanical engineer with some commercial mechanical design or analysis experience but will weigh sincere interest in sustainable design equal with experience.  A broad understanding of building systems including envelope and lighting and how systems integrate is an important component of the work we do. Experience with energy modeling software, particularly DOE2 and Energy10, and other green building analysis tools (CFD, daylighting, LCA, etc.) a major plus.

 

Duties may include: energy modeling and analysis, energy audits, establishment of building performance goals, load calculations, measurement & verification projects, post-occupancy evaluations, renewable energy system analysis, preparation and review of LEED documentation materials, review of LEED Certifications, daylighting analysis review, conducting training programs, and overall project management.
